Why is University of Florida not considered “homeschool friendly”?
Hi Shelley! This is an older post, but these days most (all?) public colleges and universities are homeschool friendly! Many even have helpful guidelines/counselors specific for homeschoolers that are applying.
Hello. How does a college become a “homeschool friendly college” so to be included on your website? Thank you for your help.
Hi! Most (all?) public colleges and universities are homeschool friendly these days. We’ve heard about a few private colleges that only accept accredited high school transcripts, so those wouldn’t be as friendly.
We love to take a look at your institution and add it to our list if possible! Please feel free to submit an email using this page: https://www.time4learning.com/curriculum/contact_us.php
In NC it says UNC Asheville. Is it just that one UNC or does it apply to all of them? Like UNC Chapel Hill or UNC Wilmington?
Hi Sarah! Usually all of the branches of the university have the same admissions policies, but we recommend reaching out to the admissions department at the branch you’re interested in, just to be sure!
hi , i’ve a question does canadian universities accept time4learning
Hi Juliana! We recommend that you check with any universities you/your students are interested in attending. Time4Learning is a curriculum and not a school. In the U.S., applicants don’t really need to disclose which curriculum they use, just what credit hours were earned and in which courses.
It says evangelical University in Missouri is a page not found. Does that college except Time4Learning?
Hi! It looks like they may have updated their site since we published this list. We’ll check into this and try to correct the link listed! In the meantime, you can reach out to their admissions office to ask about homeschool applications. https://www.evangel.edu/future-students/office-of-admissions-home/office-of-admissions/
As an aside, Time4Learning is a curriculum and not a school. Colleges usually require transcripts for the application process. Transcripts don’t often include the curriculum used, just the subject/course name and the credit hours earned. You can learn more about how Time4Learning can prepare your homeschooler for college here: https://www.time4learning.com/blog/homeschool/how-time4learning-prepares-your-high-schooler-for-college/
Does Temple University accept homeschool students?
Hi there! Within their site they do mention “Students are required to provide a copy of their high school diploma, high school equivalency certificate (GED), or proof that the student has completed secondary school through homeschooling as defined by state law.”
Here is a link for more information on their admissions process: https://admissions.temple.edu/
will i be able to go to college if i use the time4learning program
Hi! We have many, many Time4Learning members that have gone onto college! You’ll want to reach out to the colleges/universities you’re interested in attending, and make sure you understand their admission guidelines for homeschoolers. We have an active community on Facebook, if you want to join you can connect with other T4L members and homeschoolers. It’s a great way to find out how others’ have handled applications and the processes involved. 🙂 https://www.facebook.com/groups/Time4LearningFamilies
Is Fashion Institute of Technology a homeschool friendly university?I want to do fashion design.
Hi, Danna! Most colleges, even FIT, are accepting more and more homeschoolers! We recommend reaching out the the admissions counselor to make sure you can build your transcripts around what they require when applying. Good luck! 🙂
Is University of Reno home school friendly?
Hi Brian! We’ve found that most public colleges and universities (and that one is public) are homeschool friendly! We recommend that you reach out to their admissions counselor so you can make sure you have everything you’ll need to apply. Good luck! 🙂
Is UTPB a homeschool friendly university? (University Texas of the Permian Basin)?
Hi Vonda! Great question! Most public universities/colleges are very homeschool friendly. Many private ones are as well, but we would recommend that you reach out to the admissions office and ask for their homeschool admission requirements. 🙂 Good luck!
Is the University of Oklahoma a homeschool friendly university?
Hi Chloe! It looks like they are! 🙂 Here is a link that can help: http://www.ou.edu/admissions/apply/freshman/homeschool
What about playing college football or baseball for homeschool kids
Hi, David! Great question. There are many homeschoolers that have participated or are currently participating in college athletics. Your best bet would be to check NAIA and/or NCAA eligibility requirements. These links might help: https://play.mynaia.org/ and https://cbts.egain.cloud/kb/ncaahelp/home
Good luck! 🙂
